CARMEL V. WAS GRANTED A WISH TO VISIT ATLANTIC
CITY, ALONG WITH HER HUSBAND.
Carmel died, Friday August 22, 5:26 am
Thanks to all who made this wish a Success!!!
UNITY'S FIRST 2009 WISH.
MICHELLE M. OF CONNELLSVILLE, PA. CONTACTED UNITY WITH A WISH THAT WAS 2 FOLD.
MICHELLE HAS BREAST CA, WITH METS TO LIVER, LUNG AND BONE.

MICHELLE WISHED FOR A PORTABLE MINI-CONCENTRATOR FOR HER 02 NEEDS,
BECAUSE THE 02 TANKS WERE PROHIBITING HER FROM A QUALITY OF LIFE SHE WAS
ACCUSTOMED TOO, AND DID NOT ALLOW HER TO TRAVEL FAR FROM HOME WITHOUT
BRINGING MANY 02 TANKS WITH HER. SHE ALSO NEEDED A SCOOTER BECAUSE HER
BONES ARE BRITTLE FROM THE CANCER AND HER STAMINA IS ALSO AFFECTED.

UNITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH "HOMETOWN OXYGEN"  MONROEVILLE, PA WAS ABLE TO
OBTAIN A MINI-CONCENTRATOR FOR MICHELLE'S USE. SHE WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE
THIS BEFORE BECAUSE HER PHYSICIAN SAID IT WAS A LUXURY AND NO ONE WOULD
PRESCRIBE HER ONE PRIOR TO UNITY A JOURNEY OF HOPE GETTING INVOVLED. NOW
SHE CAN TRAVEL TO SEE HER SISTER IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND VISIT A CASINO OR 2 AND
MAYBE RIDE HER HARLEY!

UNITY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE BLESSED HELP FROM LYNN SEFCHIC AT MOBILITY
WORKS IN MONROEVILLE, PA. SECURED A SCOOTER FOR MICHELLE'S USE. NOW SHE CAN
TRAVEL AND GO WHERE SHE NEEDS TO WITHOUT THE SCARE OF NO OXYGEN OR
FALLING OR OBTAINING SPONTANEOUS FRACTURES.
UNITY'S newest DME addition was given to Michelle M.
an Invacare Zoom 220 scooter for her use.

Thanks to Lynn Sefchick for her assistance and Eric Mansfield from Mobility
Works in Monroeville for his generous donation  of the SCOOTER to UNITY.
George "BILL" B. needed and wanted to "just go home" after receiving the news of his disease and progression.
Destined to stay in a Pittsburgh hospital UNITY arranged for transportation with FAYETTE EMS and also with
the support and guidance of Dr. William Kozak.  Bill is now coming home to spend the rest of his days at "HOME".
Barbara B. wished to move closer to her son in Philadelphia. UNITY combined with Enterprise
Rent-A-Car to transport her from Uniontown, PA to The Keystone Hospice House in Wyndmoor, PA. As
you can see this hospice house is a beauty and the ride was just as nice. Barb and John sung all the
way listening to Big Band Music.

BARBS LAST WISH WAS A SPECIAL ONE, SHE PASSED AWAY 4/8/2009. SHE WAS ABLE TO SPEND
THE LAST DAYS OF HER LIFE NEAR HER SON IN PHILADELPHIA.
BLESS YOU BARB.
Mrs. Elizabeth G. was flown to see her sister after 30 years of separation. She flew from Pittsburgh to
Chcago and stayed at the Ambassador East Hotel Suite for a week (pix to follow).
34 year old Anita M. with stage 4 colon cancer wanted her 2 boys to have Christmas in May. The boys were treated to
a complete Family style Turkey dinner with all the fixings, home-made desserts, and of course PRESENTS!!!!! Guitar
Hero, Electric piano and 2 brand new spanking bicycles with helmets. The night was a blessing for all involved and
not a dry eye in the place. Anita was not doing well, but was able to muster up the energy to share in this moment
with her boys! Thanks Fairchance Free Methodist Church for the meal, hall, decorations and generous donation.
Thanks WMBS 590 AM for your contribution.
ANITA PASSED AWAY 3 WEEKS AFTER THIS WISH WAS GRANTED
LINDA M. pictured here in bed, with her dtr. Tracey is going
for a family re-union to Detroit MI. from Houston TX. She
has not seen a friend who found her on myspace in 30
years so there is another re-union.

They are flying out Wed. June 17th - Mon. June 22nd,
Pray for a safe trip and a blessed re-union(s).
Linda has Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Brian F. had a wish to be able to contact his son deployed in Okinawa Japan and also chat with his 11 yo daughter. Brian
has Lung Cancer with liver and brain mets.

Pictured here is volunteer Dave assembling and programming the computer. Bobbi Robinson tutors Brian on the usage of
the computer and how to navigate the internet.   (Now thats an oxymoron!)

Lastly, John Robinson looks puzzled mainly because he is and that was just putting the computer table together, (sad!!!)

THANKS to ATLANTIC BROAD BAND for their generous donation of internet service for this wish.

BRIAN PASSED AWAY 7/11/2009........ HE LOVED HIS COMPUTER AND THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED & MADE HIM A
